“The yellow canoe” is a small, plein air painting that captures the picturesque scene of a bridge spanning the serene waters of the Arno River on the outskirts of Florence. I painted this painting on one of my painting outside, trips, quite close to where I lived, at the time of painting.  I had noticed the location, as a potential painting location a bit earlier, and was really happy with how the painting turned out.
