I had taken a day trip by train, from Florence to Venice, loaded up with my plein air painting kit.  The plan was simple to get a few beautiful Venice paintings done, in the time available.  I had already painted two studies, and was heading back to the station for my train, by Vaporetto, when I saw this view, and knew I had just enough time left for a quick one.  I got off the Vaporetto and quickly set up and captured this evening view of the Grand Canal.  I just about made my train home.
