A constant source of inspiration for me, is my home town of Cork City. Cork would never top anyone’s list of the most beautiful cities in the world, but it does have a charm, and a certain something, that many people who visit there remark on. For me, at certain times of the day, depending on the lighting conditions, it is a truly beautiful place. I find the inspiration to paint it, in the everyday sights, both in the city centre and in it’s suburbs and beyond.
This view along Anglesea Street, with a contre jour view towards the late morning sun light, was inspired by the view from the top level of the number 7 bus, as it headed out of town, in the direction of Douglas.
