I had set out that morning, to paint a scene I had noticed a few days earlier, of the view towards the Ponte Vecchio, from a small green area, across the road from the river.  As I was painting it, a girl sat down to read, for a while, in the cool of the shade.  I just had to include her in this painted moment.
