Another of my paintings inspired by my hometown on Cork City.  The view from Cork cricket grounds, looking towards Sunday’s Well, is one of  my favourite views of Cork.  The beautifully tended grass of the cricket pitch, is contrasted against the mass of Summer foliage, from the trees that line the river Lee, and then on towards the old and new buildings of Sunday’s Well, on the steep hills that rise up from the river.

The view has a timeless quality, and has changed little over the years.  The cricket players, resplendent in white, give a lovely human quality to the scene.
